Home Visit of Senior High Division
It's scorching in summer, and the cicadas' chirps compose a long prelude to midsummer. The teachers of our Senior High School Department, however, did not let the holiday stop them. With their concern for students, they went to each family, making the footsteps of the home visits leave warm marks in the scorching heat. In fact, this was by no means a simple visit; Instead, it was more like a meeting of hearts where teachers brought the care of the campus to the doorsteps of the families. In the meantime, parents shared their children's growth stories in detail. Thus, through such interactions, the emotions between the school and the families gradually warmed up, filling every corner of education with visible warmth.
To begin with, teachers entered students' homes, who were warmly welcomed by the parents. Specifically, everyone sat together, sharing the growth of their children. For one thing, teachers introduced the children's academic performance and daily behavior at school to the parents, who not only highlighted the children's progress and strengths, but also pointed out some areas that needed improvement. For another, parents expressed their concern and expectations for their children's growth, especially being worried about the study planning during the senior high school years and their future development. Therefore, in response to parents' confusion and concerns, teachers patiently answered their questions, discussing educational methods with them, and sharing a great many practical family education experiences, in the hope that parents would cooperate with the school and jointly create a favorable environment for children's growth.
Subsequently, teachers had a friendly conversation with student
s, learning about their study plans and arrangements during the summer vacation, and helping them to plan their time reasonably and balance study and entertainment. Besides, for the difficult problems that students encountered in the homework, teachers provided on-site explanations, guiding them to master the correct learning methods and problem-solving strategies. Additionally, teachers encouraged students to cultivate good study and living habits during the summer vacation such as reading more, exercising more, and actively participating in social activities in order to enhance their overall qualities. Evidently, teachers' care and guidance made students feel a great sense of love, thus pointing out the direction for their summer study and life.
Last but not the least, teachers particularly emphasized the issue of summer safety and gave special attention to explaining the knowledge of drowning prevention to students and their parents, reminding parents to strengthen supervision over their children and ensure they know 'four things': knowing where they are going, knowing their companions, knowing when they will return, and knowing what they are doing. Also, parents should firmly prevent their children from swimming alone in the water. More remarkably, teachers touched upon aspects in terms of traffic safety, food safety, and cyber security, reminding students to follow traffic rules, pay attention to food hygiene, use the internet reasonably, avoid being addicted to games and electronic products, and enhance their self-protection awareness.
To summarize, through this home visit activity, teachers have physically bridged the gap between them and students and parents, making the connection between home and school even closer. Meanwhile, education is never a solo performance; rather, it is a concerto in which both the school and each family participate together. Accordingly, it's believed that with the joint efforts of home and school, our children will be able to grow up healthily and happily in an environment filled with love, thus being in a better state to welcome the new school term.
